WHAT IS BEING SAID ABOUT THE BABY AS ART WORKSHOP:

Gina Oh | “Whenever I tell people that I attended the Baby as Art Workshop,  the first question they ask me is “Was it worth it?”.  OH MY GOODNESS,  was it worth it?  ABSOLUTELY!!  I was hesitant to spend that much money on a workshop because I have been dreaming of owning the 70-200 lens for some time now.  However,  the knowledge I obtained from the workshop was worth so much more and the lens will always be there.  If you want to learn from the best,  and I mean the BEST,  you MUST MUST MUST take this workshop.  Carrie and Britt teach you EVERYTHING,  from posing to post-processing to in-camera techniques (the list goes on and on).  You will be dying to try out everything they teach you as soon as the class ends.  The student-teacher ratio is low,  it is intimate and all your questions will be addressed.  If you are serious about newborn photography,  I promise you,  this is the one to attend.  Thank you Carrie & Britt for a fabulous workshop,  it was a dream come true for me.”

Kristin Arndt | ”I’ve been photographing professionally for about three years.  I’ve never had any formal training - instead, I’ve attended various workshops from other professional photographers as a way to educate myself.  I’ve attended many workshops, but will never again learn as much as I did attending the Baby as Art Workshop last November.  Carrie and Britt were so incredibly personable.  They shared so much information and patiently taught posing techniques as well as how to find inspiration so you can create your own works of art using newborns.  Attending the workshop was the best thing I ever did - in the short time since I’ve returned, I’ve revamped my entire website, eliminating EVERY ONE of my images that were taken prior to my class.  I felt my work advanced that much.  I even have a new site dedicated solely to newborn photography. I highly recommend the Baby As Art Workshop for anyone interested in becoming a better newborn photographer.”

Candi Leonard | “After attending a personal two-on-one workshop with Carrie and Britt, my mind was spinning. The workshop is worth every penny that they charge. It was such a great business investment and an awesome way to kick off my new year. Not only did they overwhelm me with information, they were supportive and treated me like an old friend. I don’t think I have ever met two photographers more kind or giving! They were an open book and willing to share anything! I am positive that I will be implementing their wisdom and ideas for years to come. I look forward to trying out all the posing information and shooting methods. I know that my work will totally be stepped up a few notches after one day with them. I highly recommend this workshop!

Kristin Arndt | “I can’t even begin to describe how much the Workshop has meant to me.  Jan and I talked all night Sunday and both know in our hearts that although we’ll attend many more workshops together (we try to meet up once a year for a learning experience) - we’ll never again learn as much as we did during our experience with you and Britt.  You both were so wonderful - so down to earth and “real” people - and I walked away a much more confident and inspired photographer.  For years I’ve admired your work, and I still find it hard to believe that I had the opportunity to learn from you.  Thank you for welcoming us into your home and making this a “retreat” experience, connecting with others who are as consumed with photography as I am!!”

Morgaine Owens | “If you are truly passionate about newborn photography, listen to your heart and GO TAKE THIS NEWBORN WORKSHOP. NOW. Invest your last dollar if you have to. Return home full of new skills and inspiration, and go about the task of copying what the masters have done, and eventually you will find your own voice, your own style, and your own masterfulness. But embrace this part of the creative process, your learning and your development, and don’t fear the fumblings and the lack of true originality at this early stage… it takes years to develop true originality, and some argue that it doesn’t exist. I think what’s important is that we honour our sources of learning and inspiration, and if you remain humble and connected to your heart, you are already master of your dreams.” Read the entire entry here.

Jana Graham | “I attended the August workshop with Carrie and Britt, it was amazing! I was a bit tentative because I had already completed my allotted workshops for the year but when an opening became available last minute I decided to jump at the opportunity to learn from the masters. They were so warm and welcoming, and down to earth, you would think that someone that was so well regarded as the best in their photography niche would have an ego, not so with these ladies, they were willing to share all of their secrets and did not hold back at all. Every spare minute was packed full of info, even during the “down time” it was open Q & A. I learned so much about how every little detail matters and how to light and soothe a baby, they are true baby whisperers. My newborn work has improved dramatically after attending this workshop.”

WHAT IS BEING SAID ABOUT THE BABY AS ART PHOTOGRAPHERS:

Kelley Ryden | How fun for you two. Best of luck with your new venture. Funny though, no matter how much detail and advice that you give to others, NOBODY will ever even come close to what you two can do. Although, most will want to try, and that is what makes a best seller! Again good luck… you two ROCK.

Jeanette LeBlanc | “Just wanted to say that I’ve always loved your work, but lately you just seem to be soaring. Often imitated, never duplicated :) You rock!”

Kristina | “Carrie is a true master of photography. Her images, especially of newborns, are gut wrenchingly beautiful. I am not exaggerating when I say they take my breath away. I can’t even say that I visit her stream for inspiration - I can never aspire to take images of such quality - I view her stream for transcendence. Keep your images coming Carrie - I am addicted to them!”

Will Taylor | “Hi there, just want to say to you that this is the most beautiful photographs I have ever seen. Do not ever give up your day job, your work is out of this world. We just had twin girls and I so wish we lived in the States just so that we could have asked you to photograph them. Keep up the good work. You are a true artist. South African Greetings.”

Rashawn | “Awsome! Simply the BOMB. The BEST Baby and Children Photography I have ever seen. Clean and VERY NATURAL keep up the good work Carrie! Best Wishes too ya Both…. I will be very Interested in a book.”

Patrina Odette | “To watch Carrie and Britt in action was amazing, to say the least! They are the original baby whisperers, no kidding! Babies melt in their hands. and bend. and flex. and smile.”

Raye Law | “What I love about Carrie’s work is her attention to every absolute detail. It is not possible to find any flaw in one of her images. You can sit and stare for hours with jaw hanging open from amazement at hand placement, conversion, composition, etc. Carrie, I really believe you could take any item, any prop, anything…and mold it and make it conform to your beautiful style all while the focus is still on the baby.
That is ART…”

Jinky | “Amazing ..inspiring…thoughtful…captivating… terrific…ok I think that explains Carrie… Between Carrie and Britt…newborns are all wrapped up.. not just literally. And although Carrie is just amazing with her newborns, her eye just spills over into everything she takes. Thanks Carrie for continuing to amaze me.”

“Britt is the Norah Jones of childrens portraiture. Her photographs sing such soulful, pretty and gentle tunes. I hope to follow her work for life…”

AIZainah | “Carrie is a true artist, She is absolutely the best newborn photographer there is. Her images are so soulful and inspirational, she captures true beauty of all her little subjects.
Im truly blown away and I have always been, back from the days when Lily was a newborn. Her work is exquisite. Its delightful.”

Susan Braswell | “You have a God given talent that is untouchable with newborns. You and Britt are going to just rock the California coast and wherever travels may take you.”

Jane W | “so true, just when you think you have seen it all. . . Carrie’s work is original, breathtaking, beautiful and always inspiring. She consistently comes up with new, fresh poses and compositions. Her work is stunning in both black and white and colour. She so obviously has a joy for what she does, and it is reflected in all her work. So, so happy that she shares here”

“britt’s work makes you gasp, it makes you look again and again. she is original and inspired. she captures the beauty in of all her subjects. she notices the tiny details and allows us to see them and love them too. her work is technically beautiful and full of heart! I love Britt’s work.”

Kathy Wolfe | “I have been and will continue to be inspired by Britts amazing talent… I dub her the “baby whisperer” - I have no idea what she does or how she does it - but her work continues to amaze and inspire me - not only her newborn work - but her photography in general - such WONDERFUL WONDERFUL talent!!”

Deb S | “A truly brilliant photographer. A great friend. Hugely inspiring. I truly thank Carrie for her willingness to share her talent and friendship.”

Erin Vey | ”Many people are blessed with gifts and never utilize them to their fullest potential. Brittany has seized the reins in her portrait work and taken off at full speed. She inspires and challenges me to find the simple beauty in a newborn. I always look forward to seeing her beautiful work.”

Gia Guidry | “Ladies, this is truly something to get excited about! I have long been an admirer and emulator of your work… the best thing about what you do is how the images make the viewer FEEL! You just melt and say inside, “AWWWW.” The posing really captures the floppy flexible nature of the infant. When I work with infants, it’s really a challenge to place them in a way that looks soft and natural and uncontrived. I love the way you use light. It’s very difficult to tell if the light is natural or studio… not sure if you ever use studio. The biggest question I want answered is how you get the skin so clean and white without blowing the highlights. I also would like to know how you achieve graded light behind your subjects. How do you dress the moms in that gauze wrap? Is it pinned? Will you share equipment info? How do you do all of this and manage life with FOUR children Carrie??? HA! I really do want you guys to know how thrilled I am with your co-creative endeavors. I hope you both become rich beyond belief and sought after by all the loving parents who just have to have your style, whatever the cost… you’ve really got something here, and I GET it! I see what you are trying to do with your images - it’s coming through! You are the best!”
