Newborn Baby Photography and Posing Workshop

THANK YOU | As the year comes to a close, I not only want to thank our awesome attendees who made our first four workshops a complete success, but also those of you who are interested in attending future workshops. I want you to know that Brittany has been adding all of your inquiries to the mailing list so that you will be alerted of any news. If you want to be added to the list, please email Brittany at workshop@babyasart.com.

THE MODEL | Before I go into detail about what will be changing this year, I wanted to introduce the beautiful model pictured above. This is baby Kennedy. She modeled for us for 4 hours straight during our first one-day Baby as Art “Personal Workshop”. Brittany and I spent an entire day with an amazing photographer from Portugal. Two on one, we were able to load her with an entire workshops worth of information. We enjoyed it so much that we will be offering more of these in 2010.

NEW FOR 2010 | Well, I already spoiled one surprise! Brittany and I will be offering a handful of the Personal Workshops. Our regular workshops will continue here in beautiful, sunny San Diego. Although we had a lot of fun using my home and (ultra TINY) studio as a retreat during this years workshops, we have decided to move the workshop into a BEACH HOUSE! We feel that we will keep the retreat style theme this way, but we will be closer to the airport and have more space… not to mention, a grand view of the pacific ocean! We  will increase the number of attendees to 10. This way, we still be able to keep our group intimate, but we will also be able to accommodate more of you that our on our long list! As for getting the show on the road… at the moment, the interest in San Diego is so great, that we are going to keep it local. Although, we have succumbed to the temptation of Australia. It’s not set in stone yet, but we will possibly be going down under in August or September.

November, our last group of the year.

newborn photography workshop, baby as art, november groupOk, who’s bright idea was it to have a workshop in mid November? Mine you say? Well, I guess it was. And as busy as November is, I am SO happy we decided to have one more this year. Not only were these ladies as lovely as ever, but our model set was incredible. Six models total including one set of twins. Not only were we able to cover all of our signature poses, but I think many of the portraits are our favorite versions yet! We can’t wait to dig into our files and share… not only on our blogs, but our galleries will be updated as well!

While I have your attention :) - I would like to thank May workshop attendee, Morgaine Owens, for a LOVELY testimonial. I am so happy that you are loving your newborns.

I visit your portfolio site and look through the galleries whenever I want to “feel” beauty and love. I had my son this past year in August, but didn’t get to take the photos of him that I wanted b/c he was in the ICU. I’ve had a GREAT desire to take your workshop and have set it as a financial goal for next year. Thanks for linking to Morgaine’s post & testimonial. Newborn baby photography workshop by Carrie Sandoval and Brittany Woodall.

Because of the countless requests we have received in the last few months, Carrie and I have decided to have one more 2009 workshop session. The last 2009 workshop will take place on November 14th and 15th and will proceed just like the prior workshops this year. The workshop will take place at Carrie’s Northern San Diego home and studio and will be limited to six attendees. The final 2009 workshop tuition will remain un-changed at $2,500. If you would like to register for the next segment send and email titled “November workshop seat registration” to workshop@babyasart.com.  If you have signed up for the workshop email list you will receive a note shortly!

The 2010 schedule of events will be announced at the end of the year. We are making several changes to next year’s workshop so the November session will be the last of it’s kind! Carrie and I are looking forward to the next year as we have several exciting projects to unveil! Keep your eye on the Baby as Art blog for news updates!

I have been meaning to write this post for some time, but I have devoted nearly every waking moment to completing the Baby as Art workbook! It’s now complete and I cannot wait to get the books into our attendee’s hands! We are as happy as ever to announce that Asuka Book has committed to sponsoring Baby as Art’s workshop! What does this mean? Our workshop attendees will receive beautifully printed workbook. We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Asuka Book!

Carrie and Brittany would like to send their sincerest thank you to everyone who has sent their support for Baby as Art’s first workshops! They are so excited to meet all the workshop attendees in May and June. At this time, registration for the May 23rd and 24th as well as the June 27th and 28th workshop is now closed. Planning for later workshops this year will begin after the first two workshops have been completed. Keep an eye on this site for future exciting news!

Baby as Art Workshop | MAY 2009

Carrie Sandoval and Brittany Woodall are very excited to announce the news of their first workshop date! After countless requests from photographers world-wide, the Baby as Art team has decided to open their studio up to five photographers who are wanting to learn Carrie and Brittany’s style *from* Carrie and Brittany. The intense two day workshop will cover everything from posing to processing. Workshop attendees will have the opportunity to observe Carrie and Brittany through every step they take when creating their newfangled works of art.
