Having sweet Lily in front of my lens is always a treat, but there is something extra special when we have the opportunity to capture her sleeping. She is the most stunning little girl and I feel like taking pictures of her is good for my soul. After all, Carrie’s Lily is really who sparked our true love for photographing newborns.

This session ended up taking place a lot later in the day than we usually project for. We were smack up against the window, that’s for sure! She was such a sweet and sleepy girl for us, though! We were able to finish her session up just in time before it got too dark! A side note… Carrie and I crafted this blanket by sewing scarfs together. I guess we will do anything to get the softest blanket possible. And seriously. It IS the softest “blanket” I have ever felt!

She was born in front of the hospital and was immediately wrapped in the quickest thing they could grab, which so happened to be the beautiful blanket she is snuggled up on in the first one! What a birth story, eh?! I think she also wins the award for the coolest head of newborn hair!

This little girl was five weeks when I finally got my camera in front of her. She sure didn’t act like it, though! She was an amazing little model and slept soundly the entire session! What a treat!

I am posting out of order, but I needed to introduce my cousin before it got any later. This is my newest family member... Mackenzie!! She was one of several newborns I photographed during my short visit to Atlanta for the holidays! She had some of the most beautiful lips- they were plump and as pink as can be! She joins her big brother David. Congratulations Tim and Jen! I am so glad I got to photograph her while home!

This little girl was an absolute dream to photograph. At only five days, little Paige did mostly that- dream! She slept the entire session. In fact, we tried to wake her up at the end of the session for a few open eyed pictures, but she was just too sleepy. We couldn’t complain!! Her session was probably one of our favorites to date! Meet Paige, photographed at five days old.
