Riley. We couldn’t get enough of her | giving thanks part 3

*details on contest 2 at the bottom of this post!

Britt and I had not photographed a baby together since before the busy holiday (a whole 2 weeks!) so we were feeling a bit anxious and rusty. Sweet Riley had us back in the swing of things in no time. Good thing, because she was also performing for our first Baby as Art personal workshop attendee of the year, Candi Leonard. We were lucky enough to see Riley again, three days later, to wrap up the remainder of her full session and she was just as dreamy! I’m passing the mic to Britt…

Giving Thanks | Part 3

Our first giveaway was such a huge success! Thanks to all who participated! This week’s giveaway is this beautiful knitted wrap by Jennifer Howard. This design was created by Carrie and I and Jennifer was able to bring our idea to life. Her work with yarns is always incredible, to say the least! We just love Jennifer!!! Okay, on to the details!!! to keep everything exciting, Carrie and I have decided to change things up a little bit, so the rules are going to be a little different this time around! To qualify to win this gorgeous wrap, post a link to this post or the Baby as Art blog on either your facebook, flickr, twitter, blog, etc. Make sure to leave the link where you linked us in your comment to qualify.  Feel free to link more places than one… post each or your links as separate comments to increase your chances of winning! The winner will be chosen the same way as last time- with the fabulous random number generator! Good luck everyone contest ends Friday at 10pm!

Giving Thanks | Part 2

I’m so excited to not only announce the winner from our first Baby as Art contest, but to also share this video with you all! We photographed this little guy on Wednesday and we took an extra few minutes to video a short segment of the session. I hope you all enjoy!!! (And let me just make a side note- my hands are really not that large… thanks to the fish-eye lens, I have gargantuan hands!! And, Carrie just informed me that she thinks I look mad in the video, lol! Please don’t confuse my concentrating face with a mad face. I’m in deep thought there, folks! Oh, the pressure of being on video. Carrie will just have to be the star of the next one ;) ) If you didn’t win that lovely hunk of gauze… don’t despair! We have a new giveaway planned on Monday… and you are going to want to be a part of this one- it’s going to be great! Our winner is…. drumroll….. Lindsey Wiatt!!! Congratulations and thank you everyone for making our first give-thanks-contest a huge success!!!

And, just because I cannot resist sharing a few more of this beautiful little (all 5 pounds of him- he was an itty bitty one) guy… here are a few that I have gotten a chance to edit!

Whew! That was a long post! :)

Giving Thanks | Part One

Like I said in the last post… Carrie and I are immensely grateful for all the support and encouragement we have received from our family, friends, clients and fans. Without you guys we wouldn’t be were we are today! As a thank you for all that you do we are beginning a series of giveaways beginning today! The rules may change from time to time, but the goal is this- to give back! Okay, so let’s get past all the mush and get to the details! Leave a comment in this post (one per person :) ) to get the chance to win this lovely aqua gauze that I just truly love. Not only does it show up brilliantly in color… the richness translates right through to black and white as well! This first giveaway ends Thursday, January the 14th at 10PM (PST) and the winner will be announced Friday morning… GOOD LUCK! This gauze is going to go to a good home, I just know it!

anatomy of a yawn | newborn baby photography

If you’ve ever wondered what a yawn looks like- this is it! Steps 1-4. Step 1: With pinky outstretched, open mouth slightly. Step 2: Open mouth as widely as possible, curl fingers inward and scrunch your button nose up. Step 3: While still maintaining exceptional cuteness, begin closing the mouth, but don’t forget… button nose scrunching is still a significant component of this step. Step 4: The last and final step… un-scrunch nose, re-position outstretched pinky, and purse those adorable little lips.

Kayla, who was just so sweet, volunteered to demonstrate what you should not be doing while looking at the Baby as Art blog! In an effort to keep our blog from being the boring old same story, Carrie and I have decided to introduce some very fun and exciting plans including: tips and tricks and some really rad giveaways. Giveaways you say? Yes, like our dyed gauze? Or adorably sweet headbands? and our amazingly knitted wraps? Or, would you like to have an hour long chat with Carrie and I on Skype? If so… look out! Our blog is about to get very exciting. The fun begins Monday! Carrie and I want to give a huge thanks for all the wonderful feedback we have received from you all!!
