Newborn Photography Workshop | Give Thanks Part 4

Hello Baby as Art friends! Sorry for the delay in posting… Carrie and I were a little busy this past week. Well, as you can tell… we had some of the most beautiful little models at our fifth Baby as Art workshop! All four babies were as sleepy as could be . If being sleepy wasn’t enough, they were each so kind to treat us with a few of those those ever-elusive happy dream smiles. (Funny story… the picture with Mama holding sweet Bristol- I asked Mommy to give me a small smile… just as I said- “Can I get a little smile?” Bristol cracks the biggest grin!! What an amazing moment! For the record… I tried the same trick again a little later and it didn’t work, but- hey! I was still so gracious with that happy face she shared with us earlier). We couldn’t have asked for better weather either. It was so warm on the second day, that we were able to venture outside with one of our little peanuts- That’s San Diego for you! If you are interested in attending a future workshop please send an email, with the title “mailing list”, to the workshop@babyasart.com email…. you will automatically be added to our contact list!

Now, onto our next giveaway… :) Carrie and I just love meeting new photographers and making new friends. The new friendships, which blossom during our workshops, are truly the driving force behind why we put them on. If it was physically possible, we would have every single one of you in our studio! This week we would love love to get the chance to meet two of you via Skype. Two give-away participants will be randomly selected to take part in an hour long skype convo with Carrie and I!! During this time you can ask us… and we will answer!!!* To participate, simply leave a reply in the comment box below. There are no commenting limits on this Give-Thanks-Giveaway, so good luck and Carrie and I very much look forward to meeting you!!! Contest ends at 10pm PST on Friday, February 19th.

*If you do not have access to Skype, Carrie and I are more than willing to hold a phone conversation instead. The discussion will be limited to one hour. All topics, except subjects pertaining to photoshop, are welcomed. Good luck!

XOXO

Riley. We couldn’t get enough of her | giving thanks part 3

*details on contest 2 at the bottom of this post!

Britt and I had not photographed a baby together since before the busy holiday (a whole 2 weeks!) so we were feeling a bit anxious and rusty. Sweet Riley had us back in the swing of things in no time. Good thing, because she was also performing for our first Baby as Art personal workshop attendee of the year, Candi Leonard. We were lucky enough to see Riley again, three days later, to wrap up the remainder of her full session and she was just as dreamy! I’m passing the mic to Britt…

Giving Thanks | Part 3

Our first giveaway was such a huge success! Thanks to all who participated! This week’s giveaway is this beautiful knitted wrap by Jennifer Howard. This design was created by Carrie and I and Jennifer was able to bring our idea to life. Her work with yarns is always incredible, to say the least! We just love Jennifer!!! Okay, on to the details!!! to keep everything exciting, Carrie and I have decided to change things up a little bit, so the rules are going to be a little different this time around! To qualify to win this gorgeous wrap, post a link to this post or the Baby as Art blog on either your facebook, flickr, twitter, blog, etc. Make sure to leave the link where you linked us in your comment to qualify.  Feel free to link more places than one… post each or your links as separate comments to increase your chances of winning! The winner will be chosen the same way as last time- with the fabulous random number generator! Good luck everyone contest ends Friday at 10pm!

workshop 4 | newborn baby photography workshop

WOW! We had the most wonderful workshop this November and it’s been going non stop ever since. I haven’t done the math yet, but we have had a newborn almost every day for the last two weeks since the workshop! I cannot believe how beautiful our little baby models were. We had 6 babies: 5 boys, 1 girl and a set of twin boys. Please check out Carrie’s blog to see her pictures, including the models’ stories, as well. It’s been such a great year for Baby as Art and we can’t wait to see where next year takes us!

perfectly kissable.

This little guy had quite the set of smoochable lips! Surprisingly enough, this wasn’t the first time this little guy has been behind our lens! The first time he was still in his mommy’s tummy, though! :) It’s so fun to see new little families growing!

While I have your attention, I would like to announce that we are having our final workshop of the year on November 14th + 15th. There are a few changes coming to the 2010 workshop, so this will be the last of it’s kind. If you would like to register for the next segment send and email titled “November workshop seat registration” to workshop@babyasart.com. Additional details can be found on the Baby as Art Workshop blog!

Baby as Art | workshop III

WOW! That’s a lot of pictures! We always have the most beautiful little models for our workshops and this group was no exception! I want to send a heart-felt thank you for all the mommies and daddies who shared their little ones with us! Also, it was so great meeting our six attendees. They were all so kind and we all seemed to become instant friends :) We had a blast! You can meet our last group on the workshop blog! Check out Carrie’s pictures on the captured by carrie blog!

> The last picture was taken a few days after the workshop. Her mommy and daddy lived so close and wanted outdoor pictures, so it was a very easy decision! Outside we went!
