Australia was absolutely beautiful and I totally envy all the photographers who live along this gorgeous coast line! Our little models and new mommies were also quite stunning as well. I’ve been waiting for this session for years! When Jessica Claire Norwoood, world renowned wedding photographer, first announced her engagement, I became one of those annoying people wanting to know when they were going to have a baby. Only I asked in a baby photographer’s manner, “When shall I book your newborn session?”! haha!

So… I am so excited to not only meet the wonderful Jessica, but also her loving husband, Jeff, their adoring pup, Acey and last but not least, their adorable new addition, Locke.

To me, combining baby and earth together is one of the most pure and organic art-forms imaginable. The possibilities created within this combination is immensly inspiring to me. I went into this session ready to continue my journey photographing newborns amongst the pure beauty of nature. It was a 32 hour round trip drive to Montana and then an additional 9 hour round trip to Glacier National Park. It was worth every minute of the drive, though. Photographing a newborn baby in front of a scene like this was an opportunity of a lifetime for me. I am immensely grateful for Lylee’s family for being so willing to drive their one week new baby 9 hours for just a 2 hour session. They were so helpful in assisting me in any way I needed as well. Together, we created some amazing pictures. I must also thank the most beautiful model, little Lylee. She was as sleepy as can be and even shared a few of those fleeting smiles that make all of our hearts swell with love. Photographing newborns outdoors has opened a whole new world to me and I hope this year has kicked off only the first in many more destination sessions to come! The yellow and grey headbands were made by the most wonderful Melanie Disbrow and can be purchased at her Etsy Shop! Lots more pictures due here on the blog. Lately we have been…. very busy!!!!

I think little Oliver may have won my heart! He was the sweetest baby and I can say, without a doubt, that his session is my very favorite to date. Lisa Hoang had me come out to Hawaii to photograph her newest little boy a few weeks ago. The little guy was so cooperative and sleepy… so sleepy that he slept through an entire day of shooting in the studio, he slept through a fairly windy evening outing to the beach, then he slept through a morning trip to a local grassy field, and then slept a little more- just enough for some family pictures back in the studio! I couldn’t have asked for a more willing family… they were up for anything! Thank you so much, Lisa for sharing your little guy with me! I had an amazing time in Hawaii! His password is oliver. I would like to also thank my wonderful boyfriend Steven for helping me during his shoot. He was such a great help- he held blankets, an olive branch, a scale, pulled binkies and even gently brushed sand off Oliver at the beach with his camera cleaning brush!
