A Summer of Beautiful Babies | Baby as Art Newborn Photography Workshops

We have had such a wonderful summer photographing some of the cutest models in Southern California during a few of our personal newborn workshops. We had a great group of girls at each workshop, too. I always love workshops, because it’s a whole day of photographing adorable little babies. Carrie and I are having one final workshop this year: September 8th and 9th and then again on the 11th and 12th. We have three spots remaining, so if you are interested in attending please contact our workshop gal Chelle at workshop@babyasart.com for more information! I’m now off to NY to photograph a week old baby then I’m headed for Seattle to photograph a very special baby… the very talented dog photographer Erin Vey’s new baby Maggie. I can’t wait!

gentle summer light.

The beautiful light that pours into through our windows into the studio during the summer months is always so gentle and soft. The soft light always highlights the peachy newborn skin tones. It’s always a magical combination. This sweet little girl was so beautiful and delicate. Such a little girl! Her Mommy brought along a quilt she had made for her right before she was born. I’m so glad we were able to incorporate the quilt into the session. Also, the purple knit was made by the wonderfully talented Jennifer Howard… Thanks Jennifer! More pictures coming soon… I went to Hawaii last week to photograph one of Hawaii’s most beautiful baby boys! I can’t wait to share what I got!

Personal Workshops | Newborn Baby Photography

We had two fabulous little personal workshops in the month of May. See that adorable little knit hat? One of our students, the wonderful Shannon Dodd, hand knitted that hat just for our workshop! Thank you so much, Shannon! We really love that little hat. As you can see… our models were absolutely adorable! Can you believe how much hair that first little guy had? Never have I seen so much hair on a brand new baby before- only four days old, too! It’s good to be posting again! More sessions coming soon!

The Gas-Lamp Newborn Photography Workshop

Sorry guys for the delay in posting. This last month has been full of babies, workshops and traveling. As you can see… every single one of our newborn models were happy and as sleepy as can be! Our models ranged from ages 3 days old all the way up to nearly four weeks old. We also had a wonderful group of ladies who came from all over the world- From Canada, Australia, England, and, of course, all over the United States. Last month was our workshop’s one year anniversary. We have had such a wonderful time teaching others how to photograph newborns. Carrie and I are deeply honored that photographers have been willing to travel so far to learn from us. We have met so many wonderful ladies and photographed so many beautiful babies with them. Because the Gas-Lamp workshop was such a huge hit, we are now in the beginning stages of planning our next workshop, which will take place in the fall. There will be both weekend and weekday dates available. Make sure to join the mailing list to get the latest workshop information. Those who are on our waiting list will be notified first of any new dates! Have a wonderful week! XOXO

a large post of little babies | April Workshop Information

Hello friends! Sorry for the long gap in posting. March was a very busy month for Carrie and I! We traveled to Tennessee to photograph the McLellan family’s new addition: baby Seven. Then we were off to Vegas to speak at Asuka’s tradeshow booth! We had such a great response. Thank you to all who stopped by to say hi! I wish we could have met each and every one of you individually. We had the best time! In the mix of all that traveling we also photographed many babies- ranging from age three months to two weeks all the way to just four days old. So many beautiful little babies!

Notice that awesome old truck? That truck is now a permanent yard decoration behind Carrie’s house. It was towed over four hours away by one of our newest team members: Chelle Haney! If you have been in contact with Baby as Art’s workshop department lately then you have had the pleasure of talking with Chelle. Carrie and I are so excited to have her on the team and we know she is going to take very good care of all our attendees. Speaking of Workshops… we still have a few more openings for our April workshop. There are two dates currently available: April 24th and 25th as well as April 27th and 28th. Please email workshop@babyasart.com for more information on these two dates! We would love to see you at the next workshop in the Gaslamp District of San Diego.
