Hello Baby as Art friends! Sorry for the delay in posting… Carrie and I were a little busy this past week. Well, as you can tell… we had some of the most beautiful little models at our fifth Baby as Art workshop! All four babies were as sleepy as could be . If being sleepy wasn’t enough, they were each so kind to treat us with a few of those those ever-elusive happy dream smiles. (Funny story… the picture with Mama holding sweet Bristol- I asked Mommy to give me a small smile… just as I said- “Can I get a little smile?” Bristol cracks the biggest grin!! What an amazing moment! For the record… I tried the same trick again a little later and it didn’t work, but- hey! I was still so gracious with that happy face she shared with us earlier). We couldn’t have asked for better weather either. It was so warm on the second day, that we were able to venture outside with one of our little peanuts- That’s San Diego for you! Now, onto our next giveaway… Carrie and I just love meeting new photographers and making new friends. The new friendships, which blossom during our workshops, are truly the driving force behind why we put them on. If it was physically possible, we would have every single one of you in our studio! WOW! We had the most wonderful workshop this November and it’s been going non stop ever since. I haven’t done the math yet, but we have had a newborn almost every day for the last two weeks since the workshop! I cannot believe how beautiful our little baby models were. We had 6 babies: 5 boys, 1 girl and a set of twin boys. Please check out Carrie’s blog to see her pictures, including the models’ stories, as well. It’s been such a great year for Baby as Art and we can’t wait to see where next year takes us!

Image flood! I need to say a HUGE thank you to all of our wonderful little models! Could they be ANY cuter?! The June workshop was an absolute blast! We all had so much fun! Yes, I am just now finished sifting through all of the workshop images!!! I had the hardest time picking my favorites! We had such beautiful little models I have to add in here that the little girly with the wavy blonde hair made the trek all the way from Salt Lake City, Utah just for our workshop! What an honor!!! And, I can’t leave everyone without thanking our wonderful workshop attendees. You guys were so much fun and Carrie and I were so sad to see everyone go! Check out Carrie’s workshop pictures!

So many newborns… not enough time to share them all. I have been busy traveling last week (to photograph my newest cousin, which I will share soon!) and working away at the Baby as Art Workshop. Hopefully at some point Ill get a chance to share all the new babies we have had the amazing opportunity to photograph over these last few weeks. For now, here’s one of our wonderful photographer friend’s beautiful babe Kayla. She was the best little model for us and was so cooperative while we tried out a new idea that we have been wanting to do forever. Thank you Sheryl for sharing your little girl with us!

Yet another photographer’s newborn! It was so warm we were even able to venture outside! Definitely makes me want to photograph newborns outside more often!

[side note] I have had a few people email asking where we scored the twiggy basket. It came from a Hobby Lobby in Atlanta. My mom picked it up for me and shipped it out as we don’t have Hobby Lobby stores here in San Diego! HTH.

Her gorgeous mommy participated in Carrie’s maternity segment with Nikon’s Carson Kressley Look Good in Pictures and traveled all the way to our studio with her brand new baby for a session. She was a mere five days old and was as snug as a bug while she lounged in our cocoon.

Carrie and I are pleased to finally unveil our current project: Baby as Art. Our new identity was born after a recent change of direction. We feel that our new name truly describes our passion for capturing the truest works of art: our tiny subjects! For our photography peers, please don’t worry! There will be a book, a work book and possibly a few more exciting plans in our future. For our clients, Carrie and I couldn’t be more happy to come together and capture your baby as art. 

Our new website is live with beautiful new artwork from both Carrie and Brittany.
