Australia was absolutely beautiful and I totally envy all the photographers who live along this gorgeous coast line! Our little models and new mommies were also quite stunning as well. Combined they made for some amazing set ups! Thanks again to all that participated in making the outdoor shoots possible! In other news… I released the 2012 workshop schedule- TODAY! I’ve been waiting for this session for years! When Jessica Claire Norwoood, world renowned wedding photographer, first announced her engagement, I became one of those annoying people wanting to know when they were going to have a baby. Only I asked in a baby photographer’s manner, “When shall I book your newborn session?”! haha!

So… I am so excited to not only meet the wonderful Jessica, but also her loving husband, Jeff, their adoring pup, Acey and last but not least, their adorable new addition, Locke.

Being beautiful just runs in Luca’s family… you may remember when Carrie photographed his older brother Quincy… He was quite the stunner! His baby brother is no exception! Check out the Captured by Carrie blog for more of this little man. Anyways, I can’t tell you how excited I was when Carrie shared the news that Quincy was going to be a big brother. We just love seeing our families grow! As you can see from these few… Luca was quite the model himself. While I have you all, Carrie and I will be at WPPI in Vegas on Monday speaking at the Asuka Book booth from 1:00-1:30. We are very excited about our segment, which will cover the “behind the scenes” of many of our signature images, that appear in Asuka’s EXD trade show book sample. Funny story… Asuka recently told us that there were several photographers were trying to bid on the sample book at the tradeshows!! Haha! We do love our books, but the new EXD is beyond amazing! Please come by and check all their books out and say “HI” to us! We would love to meet you!

Hello Baby as Art friends! Sorry for the delay in posting… Carrie and I were a little busy this past week. Well, as you can tell… we had some of the most beautiful little models at our fifth Baby as Art workshop! All four babies were as sleepy as could be . If being sleepy wasn’t enough, they were each so kind to treat us with a few of those those ever-elusive happy dream smiles. (Funny story… the picture with Mama holding sweet Bristol- I asked Mommy to give me a small smile… just as I said- “Can I get a little smile?” Bristol cracks the biggest grin!! What an amazing moment! For the record… I tried the same trick again a little later and it didn’t work, but- hey! I was still so gracious with that happy face she shared with us earlier). We couldn’t have asked for better weather either. It was so warm on the second day, that we were able to venture outside with one of our little peanuts- That’s San Diego for you! Now, onto our next giveaway… Carrie and I just love meeting new photographers and making new friends. Britt and I had not photographed a baby together since before the busy holiday (a whole 2 weeks!) so we were feeling a bit anxious and rusty. Sweet Riley had us back in the swing of things in no time. Good thing, because she was also performing for our first Baby as Art personal workshop attendee of the year, Candi Leonard. We were lucky enough to see Riley again, three days later, to wrap up the remainder of her full session and she was just as dreamy! I’m passing the mic to Britt…

I must admit that photographing friends and family babies are so much fun! These two little guys were Carrie’s family and friends… it was so awesome meeting the new little families! Both little boys were adorable and as sweet as they come. William, who was born right here in Fallbrook!, pictured in the first three images was a long time friend of Carrie’s sister. Tanner, who was a four weeks old!, was Carrie’s new little cousin. Aren’t they cute lil’ guys?

This sweetie truly did have sweet dreams- look at those beautiful smiles!! Her family traveled all the way from Japan, so her session was extra special.

Image flood! I need to say a HUGE thank you to all of our wonderful little models! Could they be ANY cuter?! The June workshop was an absolute blast! We all had so much fun! Pictured in a different kind of studio Carrie’s latest Nikon gig… Today she took part in a podcast geared towards consumers of Nikon’s point-and-shoot cameras. Not exactly Carrie’s specialty, but she did a wonderful job at pointing out easy techniques that any level of expertise would benefit from! We’ll share the link information once the podcast has been released!
