*Please note that all images taken outside were prepped and posed inside to minimize exposure to the baby. The shots were taken quickly and the baby was outside for only a couple of minutes. Proper precautions were taken to keep the baby warm at all times. It is advised that you not attempt the outdoor set-ups you see here as they were styled and photographed by a highly trained professional.

I had the most amazing opportunity to photograph a beautiful little boy born in Iowa earlier this month. Friend, past workshop attendee, and extremely talented photographer Shannon Dodd had me out to photograph their third little boy. We had an amazing time together. What a beautiful little family they have! Jefferson was an absolute dream baby and slept soundly as we did set up after set up with him. Thank you Shannon and family for being so great! I had an amazing little trip to Iowa :)

    That is EXACTLY how I did my last newborn session! We posed and set up inside, and then went outside quickly, shot, and went back in! Baby did pretty good, but it wasn’t snowing where we shot, just only around 50 degrees, maybe a little below. I can’t imagine the logistics of trying to coordinate outside in the snow when trying to protect a little one! It’s hard enough inside with the heater blasting! Good show Brit! :)
